I have been thinking of blogging for a while now but I have been procrastinating it, I did not know how to make time for blog. I have been making excuses that I do not have time, I’m too tired after work, I need to relax, I have to cook and blah blah…. I have put this off for a long time and last week I had an aha moment – if I don’t do it now I never will! So I finally started blogging – my target is to post at least 1 post a day but I have posted only 4 posts so far : ) but I have a valid reason – it is due to the fact that I’m still learning how to post and add links and pictures and so on. Even though I’m behind on my post writing, I can proudly say that I am learning and progressing. Since I have been making time for my blog, I thought I would share tips and tricks that I’m using to make time so that it will help and encourage anyone who is thinking of starting a blog.
Make up your mind
Most important thing is to make up your mind that you will do this and stick to it. You will need to be motivated to do this everyday. Once you make up your mind rest is not that difficult.
Stay Away from TV
Yes! I said that : ) sorry but no time for TV!
It not only takes away some time of your spare time but it will take away every second of your spare time as that’s how TVs are! Addictive. My solution is, don’t watch it at all. The more TV you watch, more you want to watch and at the end of the day you would spend hours in front of TV. Say no to TV!!!
This might sound counter intuitive – you must be thinking, ‘ I’m trying to find time to blog and you are asking me to find time to exercise?’ Yes – I’m asking you to do so as Exercise helps us to feel refreshed and energized, and keeps us healthy – mentally and physically. This will give you energy to use your time to do tasks(blog in this case) which other wise you would have spent lazy-ing in sofa. It will help you think with a fresh mind. Fresh mind= Fresh Ideas.
Before you sit down to start a post or any task, plan to spend x amount of time. This way, you will not spend your time dilly-dallying. Even if you go over your time limit, you will still be closer to your target time vs. not having a set time in mind. You may not be good with this at first but you will get better with time. I already feel I’m getting better 😉 hehe
Use every second you find to write down ideas
While you might think you need to sit in a quiet place to brainstorm, or jot down your ideas, that is not very true. If you need to get this done you need to get this done any how. As soon as you get few minutes while you are waiting for someone, waiting at doctors office, in a bus, etc. think about your next post. Brainstorm and jot down your ideas in a piece of paper or in your cell phone. While this may not finish your work it will get you started, so all you will need to do later is write in detail and finish it.
These are the few tips and tricks I use to make time to blog. What all do you do?
